Try Tempbench with sample data.

Tempbench can load a made-up temp agency in one click so you can try every screen: 84 candidates, 14 clients, 10 jobs with bookings this week, 18 tasks, 3 shortlists, notes and dated documents. Every sample record is tagged, and one click removes the lot without touching anything you added yourself.

The candidate list from the sample agency: drivers within 15 miles of BS11, each with a role, distance and a week strip, and one record open

What is in the sample agency.

A busy small desk with a bit of everything, so the ring round, the planner and Data checks all have something to show.

84 candidates

Drivers are the biggest group: van, multi-drop, 7.5 tonne, Class 2 and Class 1. Then forklift, warehouse, production, care, hospitality, admin and cleaning. Each has positions, skills, a usual week and some booked or off days this week. Candidate database

Documents with dates

CVs, right to work, driving licences, Driver CPC cards, FLT, DBS and food hygiene certificates. Some are already expired and some run out within 30 days, so the warnings have something to warn about. Document expiry

14 clients

Invented businesses in logistics, food production, warehousing, care, construction, hospitality, manufacturing, cleaning and more. Each has a site or two and a named contact. Some have signed terms and agreed rates on file and some do not. Clients and sites

10 jobs, booked this week

Pay and charge rates, shift days and times, headcount, and people at every pipeline stage. Jobs are open, on hold, filled or closed, and the people marked booked are on the week planner. Week planner

18 tasks

Overdue, due today and due over the next fortnight, linked to candidates and clients, plus three already done. Tasks

3 shortlists

Night drivers for peak, weekend care cover, and forklift drivers ready to start, each with this week's availability beside every name. Shortlists

Near your office.

The sample people and client sites are placed around Wigan in the North West, or around Bristol if your office postcode starts BS, BA, GL, NP, TA or SN.

That way the distances on search results and the map look like your patch. If your agency has no office postcode yet, loading sample data sets one, and removing it clears that postcode again as long as you have not changed it.

Everyone in it is invented. Mobile numbers use the range Ofcom keeps for drama, email addresses end in example.co.uk, and each document is a placeholder file that says it is not real.

Load it, try it, remove it.

  1. Load it in one click

Sign up, then press Load sample data on the home screen. It shows while you have no candidates. It is also in Settings, Data and privacy. Owners and admins can load it.

  2. Try every screen

Run the ring round, search for drivers near a postcode, open a job and press Find matches, book someone on the planner and watch it stop a clash.

  3. Add your own alongside

Anything you type in or import yourself is yours, not sample data. A banner on the home screen reminds you that sample data is loaded.

  4. Remove it in one click

Press Remove sample data. It deletes the sample records and anything attached to them since, then tells you everything else is as you left it.

Kept apart from your own records.

Every record the sample loader creates is tagged as it goes in. Removing sample data deletes exactly those records, plus the notes, documents, tasks, shortlist entries and job pipeline entries later attached to a sample candidate or client. Your own candidates, clients, jobs and notes are never touched.

If you booked one of your own people on a sample job, the booking goes with the job and that day is given back to their usual week. You can load the sample again later if you want a fresh copy.

Questions about sample data.

Will the sample data mix with my own candidates?

Every sample record is tagged as sample data when it is loaded, and removing it deletes only those records. Your own candidates, clients and jobs are never touched. While it is loaded, sample people do show in lists and searches beside anyone you add, so most agencies remove it before they start for real.

Are the sample people real?

No. Every name is made up, the mobile numbers sit in the range Ofcom keeps for drama and fiction, and the email addresses end in example.co.uk, which cannot receive mail. The documents are placeholder files that say they are not real. Nobody is contacted when you use them.

Who can load or remove sample data?

Owners and admins. Users on the team see the sample records but cannot load or remove them. The Load sample data button shows on the home screen while the agency has no candidates, and in Settings, Data and privacy at any time. Remove sample data sits in the same places.

What happens to notes I add to a sample person?

They go when the sample data goes. Removing it deletes the sample records plus anything since attached to a sample candidate or client, such as notes, documents, tasks and shortlist entries. If you booked one of your own people on a sample job, those days are given back to their usual week.
