How it works.

  1. Add the job to a client

    Pick the client and the site, the position, and who the contact is.

  2. Set the rates

    Pay and charge per hour. The margin per hour appears on the job and in the list.

  3. Set the shifts and headcount

    Days it runs, start and finish times, how many people, start date and an end date if there is one.

  4. Find matches and book

    Add people to the pipeline, then book them day by day on the week planner.

How does Tempbench work out the margin?

The margin per hour is the charge rate minus the pay rate, as you enter them. It does not take off holiday pay, employer National Insurance, pension or the apprenticeship levy, so treat it as the gross margin. Your true margin per hour will be lower than the figure shown.

Can a job have different shifts on different days?

A job has one set of shift times and the days it runs, such as Monday to Friday, 07:00 to 15:30. When booking a particular day on the planner you can change the start and finish for that booking, which covers the odd early or late one.
