Where TempAlly is stronger

TempAlly does more of the back office. Its pages list a Candidate Portal for onboarding, availability and timesheets ("chased automatically"), a Client Portal giving clients a live view of bookings, a Timesheets and Pay/Bill module, referencing and candidate rating. Candidates can onboard and upload documents from a phone browser. Tempbench has none of those portals and no timesheets or pay and bill. If they matter to you, TempAlly is the better choice.

Where Tempbench fits

Tempbench, the CRM for UK temp agencies, is a lighter tool for desks that run the week by phone: weekly availability with a usual week and date changes, a ring round list, sentence search by distance from a postcode, clients with sites and agreed rates, jobs with pay rate, charge rate and margin, and a week planner that blocks double bookings and warns on expired documents. Both prices are public: £12.99 a seat against TempAlly's £45 on Startup. Tempbench does not include SMS or texting, timesheets, payroll or pay and bill, invoicing, a candidate app or portal, job board posting or integrations.

Questions people ask

Is TempAlly or Tempbench better for a small temp agency?

It depends on what you need. If candidates should log in to give availability and submit timesheets, or you want pay and bill in the same tool, TempAlly lists those and Tempbench does not. If you mainly need to see who is free and book shifts by phone, Tempbench covers that at a lower published price.

How much does TempAlly cost?

On 26 October 2026 TempAlly's pricing page listed Startup at £45 per seat per month for up to 3 users, Premium at £80 per seat per month with unlimited users, and Enterprise on a custom price. It says all prices exclude VAT and there is no contract on Startup or Premium.

Does Tempbench have a candidate portal like TempAlly?

No. Tempbench has no candidate app or portal, so candidates do not log in. Your team records availability on each candidate, as a usual week plus changes for particular dates, often during the weekly ring round. TempAlly lists a candidate portal for onboarding, availability and timesheets.

Can I try both before deciding?

Yes. TempAlly says it offers a free trial with no credit card, though its pricing page does not state the length. Tempbench has a 30-day free trial with no card, a sample agency to explore and CSV import. Try both with a real week of your own work.
